LOVE, ME

ONE MORNING
I WAS TALKING
TO THE WORLD

AND THE WORLD
STARTED TALKING BACK
TO ME

BOTH OF US WERE LONELY,

A LITTLE ANGRY,

BOTH OF US WERE LOOKING FOR A FRIEND

YET LAMENTING

HOW WE'D NEVER BE ALONE AGAIN

ALL I HEARD
WAS TWO LITTLE WORDS:

LOVE ME

LOVE ME

LOVE ME

AND AT THE END
OF THE NOTE

THAT I WROTE
TO THE WORLD:

"CAN YOU HEAR ME?

ARE YOU LISTENING?

LOVE,

ME."

IN THE EVENING
I WAS TALKING
TO THE WORLD

BUT THE WORLD
WASN'T LISTENING,
NOT TO ME

MAYBE IT WAS BUSY

OR AT THE PARTY

EVERYONE'S INVITED TO ATTEND

EVERYONE EXCEPT FOR YOU AND ME.

ALL I HEARD
WAS TWO LITTLE WORDS:

LOVE ME

LOVE ME

LOVE ME

AND AT THE END
OF THE NOTE

THAT I WROTE
TO THE WORLD:

"CAN YOU HEAR ME?

ARE YOU LISTENING?

LOVE,

ME."

LOVE ME

THAT I WROTE TO THE WORLD:
